More than thirty years ago, Juerg Frech seized the opportunity to open his own store in Zurich after working for a long time under the previous owner of the location.
With the help of good friends and determination, they completely renovated the store in a very short time. They knew the opening date was ambitious and financial resources were limited, so they had no choice to work day and night to meet the deadline.
During his time working in Canada for several companies and creative individuals, Juerg discovered his immense passion and love for colored gemstones and pearls. This passion led him to Santa Monica in the early 80s, where he graduated in 1982 as a gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), specializing in colored gemstones, pearls and diamonds.
With this experience and the subsequent founding of his own business, Frech Jewelry stands for extraordinary and unique gemstones that, in combination with his signature design, enchant visitors with joy and emotion from the very beginning.
In 2023, Alex Frech joined the business and became the second pillar in the company's history, bringing with him his extensive knowledge and experience in goldsmithing and commerce. His journey began with an apprenticeship at a well-known jewelry business in Zurich, where he spent six years mastering the craft of goldsmithing and gaining valuable experience.
A year later, he returned to school to earn a diploma in Salesmanship and Management. While studying, Alex had the great opportunity to work in Zug for a supplier of precious metals for the industry. Over the course of five years, he took on various responsibilities, allowing him to apply the theoretical knowledge he had gained in a practical setting.
Now, Alex continues to learn constantly about the business from his father, while also contributing his own ideas to the family business.
